 The Institute of Electro-optics held the Second Graduate Academic Salon on July 11th and 12th. A series of activities were involved, including four thematic academic discussion, communication between teachers and students as well as outstanding graduates discussion and so on. On the afternoon of July 11th, national outstanding youth, Professor Wang Yongsheng, as well as doctoral students of the institute participated in the symposium. On the symposium, Professor Wang introduced the history of the Institute of Electro-optics, encouraged the students to work hard, challenge themselves, cherish the recent research condition, and contribute to improve national scientific research. He also told the students that learning should not be limited to the professional knowledge, instead deep thinking about research methods can improve their humanistic quality, broaden their horizon and spark inspiration. Critical thinking about academic problems was also encouraged. He shared his research experience with students. Besides, Associate Professor Liang Chunjun, Peng Hongshang, Research Associate Hu Yufeng and Associate Professor Zhang Fujun presented their reports. Some results are obtained from this salon and it still has room to improve. We will make continuous efforts to upgrade the level of scientific research and output the scientific research products of high quality and cultivate more outstanding graduates. |
